October 2007 saw the best trip to date. Now firmly established in the DGS golfing calendar the “Overseas” flexed its muscles, expanded again, and 22 Ex-Captains, members and non members travelled to Jerez in southern Spain. A great hotel, a good Irish bar across the road and 2 great courses – Arcos Gardens and Montecastillo combined with stunning weather to please everyone.

The competitions also expanded this year to include another new trophy, the “Future Captains Trophy” which was won by one of our new crop of young members, Tristan Stowe. Another “youngster”, David Braid won the overall 2 day eclectic, and to complete the hat trick, the “young at heart” Mark Pattison took the Triple S trophy home until our next event, again at Jerez in October 2008.
