1. The yellow shaded box denotes the ‘Home’ player.
2. It is the responsibility of the ‘Home’ player to arrange the match.
3. All matches must be played no later than the date shown above.
Refer to Golf Doubles Rules for full information.
RULES
- The team shown in the yellow box on the draw sheet is the ‘Home’ team and have the right to select the venue.
- The Home team are responsible for contacting opponents to organise the match by the due date. They must make every reasonable effort to arrange the match. In the event that they fail to agree a match by the due date, (the date stated on the draw sheet) they must contact the Secretary, and advise him that the match is ‘Uncontested’.
- If the match is not played by the due date, then both teams will forfeit the match. The only exceptions to this rule are:
(i) Either team has advised the Secretary that the match is Uncontested and the Secretary judges that this team has made a reasonable attempt to arrange the game
(ii) Either team has advised the Secretary, that they have withdrawn
In the event of either of these occurrences the Secretary will award a walkover to the team that has made a reasonable effort to arrange the game
- Any green fees due will be shared equally between all four players.
- The maximum allowable handicap is 28
- Match will be better ball 18-hole matchplay, i.e. best individual net score for each pair counts.
- The match will be played off the everyday tees (yellow).
- Scoring will be based on 3/4 difference in handicaps and relative to the lowest handicap; e.g.:
> Team A pair have a handicap of 24 and 20 respectively
> Team B pair have a handicap of 18 and 12 respectively
> The 12 handicap player receives no shots
> The 18 handicap player receives 3/4 of 6 = 5 shots
> The 20 handicap player receives3/4 of 8 = 6 shots
> The 24 handicap player receives 3/4 of 12 = 9 shots
- Players receive shots at the matching Stroke Index holes;
e.g. the 18 handicap player will receive shots at Stroke Index holes 1 to 5
- In the event that the match is tied after 18 holes then the result will be decided by a ‘suddden-death’ playoff. Additional holes will be played until one side wins a hole. The additional holes must be mutually agreed prior to the start of the playoff.
- In the event that it is mutually agreed that it is not possible to complete the match because of poor light, or extreme weather conditions, then the remaining holes must be completed on the same course at a new date to be mutually agreed. If this cannot be arranged before the due date, the result will be determined by the toss of a coin.
- The Winning team is responsible for reporting the result to the Secretary
- In the event of any dispute the Secretary’s decision is final.
