1. The yellow shaded box denotes the ‘Home’ player.
2. It is the responsibility of the ‘Home’ player to arrange the match.
3. All matches must be played no later than the date shown above.
Refer to Golf Singles Rules for full information.
RULES
- The player shown as shaded on the draw sheet is the ‘Home’ player and has the right to select the venue.
- The Home player is responsible for contacting opponent to organise the match by the due date. He must make every reasonable effort to arrange the match. In the event that he fails to agree a match by the due date, (the date stated on the draw sheet) he must contact the Secretary, and advise him that the match is ‘Uncontested’.
- If the match is not played by the due date, both players will forfeit the match, and a walkover awarded to their opponent in the next round. The only exceptions to this rule are:
(i) Either player has advised the Secretary that the match is Uncontested and the Secretary judges that this player has made a reasonable attempt to arrange the game
(ii) A player has advised the Secretary, that he has withdrawn
In the event of either of these occurrences the Secretary will award a walkover to the player that has made a reasonable effort to arrange the game
- Any green fees due will be shared equally between both players.
- The maximum allowable handicap is 28
- Match will be 18-hole matchplay,
- The match will be played off the everyday tees (yellow).
- Scoring will be based on the full difference between the DGS Society handicaps, e.g.:
> Player A has a handicap of 10
> Player B has handicap of 22
> The difference is 12 - Player A gives Player B 12 strokes
> Player B will be given one stroke on holes Stroke Index 1 to 12
- In the event that the match is tied after 18 holes then the result will be decided by a ‘suddden-death’ playoff. Additional holes will be played until one side achieves a winning hole. The additional holes must be mutually agreed prior to the start of the playoff.
- In the event that it is mutually agreed that it is not possible to complete the match because of poor light, or extreme weather conditions, then the remaining holes must be completed on the same course at a new date to be mutually agreed. If this cannot be arranged before the due date, the result will be determined by the toss of a coin.
- The Winning player is responsible for reporting the result to the Secretary
- In the event of any dispute the Secretary’s decision is final.
